Man blames Rush University Medical Center, doctor for hearing loss from Neomycin

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Rush University Medical Center and Sheila Eswaran, M.D., alleging negligence in medical care.

Craig Hironimus filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the harmful effects of using Neomycin.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered physical injuries, including loss of hearing. The plaintiff alleges the defendants prescribed Neomycin to the plaintiff for his liver disease, but failed to monitor him for hearing loss.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. He is represented by Timothy S. Tomasik and Patrick J. Giese of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, LLC in Chicago.
