Ingalls Memorial Hospital, others accused of failure to diagnose pulmonary embolism

CHICAGO — The administrator of a woman's estate is suing Ingalls Memorial Hospital; Primary Healthcare Associates S.C.; Akbar Rahmani, M.D.; Rahmani Medical LLC,; Kaveh Rahmani, M.D.; Advanced Heart Group S.C.; and Ripple Doshi, M.D., alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Yvonne McLeod, independent administrator of the estate of Shirley Clark, filed a complaint Jan. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging Clark experienced shortness of breath which was caused by a pulmonary embolism that contributed to the deterioration of her health. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to diagnose Clark's coronary artery disease and provide the necessary treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Susan A. Capra of Clifford Law Offices, P.C. in Chicago.
