CHICAGO — A patient is suing Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, which does business as Northwestern Medical Group, alleging medical malpractice.

Charles Olsen filed a complaint Jan. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging a failure to provide proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he suffered permanent injuries as the result of a late diagnosis of a rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to obtain an X-ray or MRI of the patient's shoulder at the time when he initially sought medical care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Craig M. Sandberg of Muslin & Sandberg in Chicago.
