Woman blames Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, others for problems related to MRI

CHICAGO — A patient is suing several medical providers, alleging negligence in connection with an MRI.

Julie Donofrio filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital; Albert Mendelson, M.D.; Frank Kalmar, M.D.; Neal P. Christiansen, M.D.; Yvette Senger; Jane Doe; John Doe; and unknown employees of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, alleging they failed to properly evaluate and advise the plaintiff before proceeding with an MRI procedure.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained serious physical and mental injuries from undergoing the MRI. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly consult with her, properly consult her safety questionnaire and provide adequate warnings of risks.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Zane D. Smith of Zane D. Smith & Associates, Ltd. in Chicago.
