CHICAGO — A representative of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death claim against Franciscan Alliance Inc., St. James Health - Chicago Heights and St. James Wellness Rehab Villas, alleging negligence in nursing home care.
Connie McCarthy, as independent executor of the estate of Helen Monarch, filed a complaint on Jan. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Monarch.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that a fall and medication errors contributed to Monarch's death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for alleged failure to provide proper monitoring and treatment.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Paul D. Richter and Caitlin K. Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
