CHICAGO — A man is suing a Chicago Police officer and the city of Chicago, alleging excessive force and violation of civil rights.

Larry Bailey Jr. filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging, on Oct. 5, 2015, he sustained physical injuries including bleeding and bruises and was taken to Loretto Hospital to receive treatment after the officer allegedly used excessive force in attempting to enter the plaintiff's mobile home in search of a suspect. He said the officer also fabricated reports stating that he was assaulted by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general damages in the amount of $300,000, special damages, punitive and exemplary damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Peniel Manigat of Manigat Law Group in Chicago.
