CHICAGO — A patient is suing Valerie Jennings, M.D.; Varsha V. Upadhyaya, M.D.; Advocate Christ Medical Center; Advocate Medical Group; and related Advocate Health entities, alleging negligence in medical care.
Diana Dlouhy filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide her with proper medical care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she experienced pain and disability due to an improperly severed sigmoid colon. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for alleged negligence in connection with preparation for a laparotomy procedure.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Vincent M. Auricchio and Bernard A. Speiser of Auricchio Law Offices in Chicago.
