Family blames Palos Community Hospital, others for patient's death

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — A family administrator is suing Palos Heights health providers, alleging their negligence led to the death of a patient.

Deborah Gaddini, independent administrator of the estate of Lawrence Gaddini, filed a complaint Feb. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against Palos Community Hospital, Angelica Tolentino, Dr. Ashok Dholakia and unknown CT technicians, alleging failure to provide proper medical care to Lawrence Gaddini.

According to the complaint, Gaddini experienced pain after the defendants failed to properly evaluate Gaddini's CT scan results and recognize the signs of right flank hematoma and internal hemorrhaging in February 2015. Gaddini died in November 2015.

The plaintiff seeks judgment greater than $50,000, plus any further relief the court grants. She is represented by attorney James A. Karamanis of Barney & Karamanis, LLP in Chicago.
