CHICAGO — A Cook County woman is suing Hohman Enterprises Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her from slipping, falling and injuring her hip at a KFC restaurant it operates.
Andrea Harris filed a lawsuit on Feb. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the restaurant operator failed to maintain its premises in a reasonable and safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was a patron at the defendant's KFC restaurant on June 25, 2013 when she slipped and fell on the freshly mopped, soapy floor. She claims to have suffered physical injuries, loss of income and incurred medical expenses due to the fall. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly maintain the floor and carelessly applying water in a high-traffic area of the restaurant.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and is seeking judgment for a sum in excess of $50,000 plus legal costs. She is represented by Charles J. Candiano of Candiano Law Office in Chicago.
