CHICAGO — Three former employees have filed a class action lawsuit against landscaping company Thankfully Living Christian LLC and David Trotter, alleging violation of wage laws.
James Thompson, Joshua Brisbin, and William Meiners filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on Feb. 13 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly compensate the plaintiffs for overtime work.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege Thankfully Living Christian paid the plaintiffs their wages based on their regular hourly rate of pay regardless of the total hours worked.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek interest, back wages, unpaid wages, penalties in the amount of 2 percent of all unpaid wages for each month, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Matthew J. Piers, Christopher J. Wilmes and Todd Pierce-Ryan of Hughes, Socol, Piers, Resnick & Dym, Ltd. in Chicago.
