CHICAGO — Three people are suing attorney Monica Ribbeck, alleging legal malpractice.
Lianjun Wang, Guohua Chen and Jiabao Wang filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Ribbeck, alleging the attorney failed to file suit in time to press claims in connection with an airliner crash.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they sustained damages when the manufacturers of the airliner and its engines were not sued, after Ribbeck allegedly failed to sue despite promising to do so, leading to the plaintiffs' potential claims being time-barred.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for actual damages and court costs. They are represented by Edward X. Clinton, Jr. of The Clinton Law Firm, LLC in Chicago.
