Advocate Health accused of not providing proper care, causing wrongful death

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family has filed a wrongful death claim against Advocate Health, alleging negligence in medical care.

Michael Holiday, special administrator of the estate of Johnie L. Holiday Sr., filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate, alleging a hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Johnie Holiday.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Holiday suffered from C-diff and skin ulcers, contributing to her death. The plaintiff alleges Advocate failed to provide adequate supervision and care to Holiday.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Steven B. Muslin of Muslin & Sandberg in Chicago.
