CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death claim against Alden-Wentworth Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Inc., alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Felicia McDonald, as independent administrator of the estate of Ernestine Lewis, filed a complaint on Feb. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Alden-Wentworth, alleging the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to Lewis.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Lewis suffered a fall that contributed to her death because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to address Lewis' risk of falling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount to satisfy the jurisdictional requirements of this court, and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Clifford Horwitz and Thomas Kelliher of Horwitz, Horwitz, and Associates, Ltd. in Chicago.
