Mount Sinai Hospital, doctor sued for not doing enough to save leg before amputation

Medical malpractice 03

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center of Chicago and Samantha Minc, M.D., alleging they didn't do enough to save her leg before amputation.

Diana Saunders filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging her left leg was amputated because the defendants allegedly failed to perform thrombolysis surgery to remove a blood clot to save her leg.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Scott Barber of Barber Law Offices LLC in Schaumburg.
