Patient sues Rush University Medical Center for prescribing drug that reduced his eyesight

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Rush University Medical Center and a doctor, saying they should pay for prescribing him a drug he blames for his diminished eyesight.

Cicero Chimbanda filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Sarah Y. Yon and Rush, alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered from having his sight greatly diminished after the defendants allegedly prescribed Isoniazid to the plaintiff without informing him of the potential harmful effects of the drug.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $30,000 and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Andrew J. Fink of Solis Law Firm P.C. in Cicero.
