CHICAGO — A nursing home resident's family is suing Briar Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ltd. and Extended Care Consulting, LLC, alleging negligence in nursing home care.
Jim Collins, as plenary guardian of the estate and person of Bridget Collins, filed a complaint on Feb. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide proper care to Bridget Collins.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Collins experienced pain from suffering falls and skin breakdown. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Collins to prevent her from falling.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $500,000. He is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte and Jared M. Reynolds of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
