CHICAGO — A woman's family is suing Southpoint Nursing & Rehabilitation Center LLC, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
Clides Coker, as special administrator of the estate of Diane Coker, filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Southpoint, alleging the facility failed to provide proper care to Diane Coker.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Coker experienced pain from having developed decubitus ulcers, which contributed to the deterioration her health. The plaintiff holds the facility responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Coker to address the risk of developing ulcers.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $30,000. He is represented by Corey E. Meyer of Law Offices of Meyer and Blumenshine in Chicago.
