CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family is suing Southpoint Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Celeste Davis, as independent administrator of the estate of Cedellar Davis, filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against Southpoint, alleging the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to Cedellar Davis.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Davis suffered from a fall and skin breakdown. The plaintiff holds Southpoint responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Davis to address her risk of falling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Jeffrey Schlapp of Schlapp Law Group, L.L.C. in Chicago.
