CHICAGO — The grandson of a deceased patient is suing Glen Elston Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre Ltd., Glen Health and Home Management Inc. and a nurse, alleging insufficient measures were taken to provide proper medical care and an adequate diet to the patient.

Travis Jones, as independent administrator of the estate of Barbara Jones-Burks, filed a lawsuit on March 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper care to Jones-Burks, who was suffering from dementia.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Jones-Burks experienced pain from dehydration and malnutrition, which resulted in respiratory distress. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately monitor Jones-Burks' condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court and damages. He is represented by Jacqueline Kanter of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
