Depuy Orthopedics allegedly failed to properly test hip implant product

CHICAGO — An individual is suing Depuy Orthopedics Inc. and Premier Orthopedic Sales Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and recall a defective product.

Beth B. Brickler filed a lawsuit on March 7 in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging that the defendants knowingly manufactured and distributed defective hip implants.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained physical injuries which needed further medical treatment are receiving a defective hip implant. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly allowing their product to be sold in the market without being properly tested.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus interest and court costs. She is represented by Peter J. Flowers of Meyers & Flowers LLC in Chicago.
