CHICAGO — A mother is suing Advocate Christ Medical Center, Hygeia Medical Group S.C. and George Chronis, M.D. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries during child birth.

Ariel Abeyta filed a lawsuit on March 7 on behalf of her daughter in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide proper medical care to her while delivering her then-unborn child.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained serious physical injuries and disfigurement during labor on March 6, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to recognize that Abeyta needed a cesarean section to deliver her child.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Matthew M. Popp of Salvato & O'Toole in Chicago.
