Edward Hospital allegedly failed to take measures to prevent punctured spinal cord

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Edward Hospital, Dupage Valley Anesthesiologists Ltd. and Charles Kim, M.D. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her spinal cord from being punctured.

Colleen Llasca filed a lawsuit on March 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging she sustained physical injuries after being administered spinal anesthetic several times, during which her spinal cord was allegedly punctured.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Thomas M. Murphy of Cogan & Power P.C. in Chicago.
