Renaissance at Midway allegedly failed to prevent patient's pressure ulcer

Medical malpractice 09

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family is suing a nursing facility, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Diane Ware, administrator of the estate of Luevenia Ware, filed a complaint on March 7 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Renaissance at Midway LLC; Nucare Services Corp.; JLR Financial Services Corp.; and two individuals, alleging they failed to provide proper care to Luevenia Ware.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Ware experienced pain from suffering from pressure ulcers, which "hastened her death." The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate supervision to Ware to prevent skin breakdown.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus any further relief this court grants and court costs. She is represented by Michael Silverman of Horwitz, Horwitz and Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
