Rush University Medical Center allegedly used excessive force when restraining patient

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Rush University Medical Center for allegedly failing to take measure to prevent physical injury while hospital employees attempted to restrain him.

Arnold Jackson filed a lawsuit on March 9 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the hospital allowed its employees to use excessive force.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he sustained a fracture on his left hand Rush personnel were allegedly careless and negligent in attempting to restrain him.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Mark A. Heftman of Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman L.L.C. in Rosemont.
