1st Response EMS allegedly failed to properly transport patient who fell from stair chair

CHICAGO — A deceased man's family is suing 1st Response EMS Inc. and its agents for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent a patient from falling off a stair chair.

Zerome Cage, independent administrator of the estate of Eugene Cage, filed a lawsuit on March 13 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to properly transport Eugene Cage to his residence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Cage was injured in a fall on June 16, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly secure Cage to a stair chair, which caused the fall.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by W. Jason Gatzulis, in Chicago.
