Jewelry supplier sues jeweler for failure to pay for $57K necklace

CHICAGO — A Chicago-based supplier for independent jewelers is suing Malnekoff Jewelers and associated business entities for allegedly failing to pay for a $57,300 diamond necklace and a $7,300 diamond.

IGC Brand Services LLC filed a lawsuit on March 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to pay the plaintiff for the necklace and the diamond.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay despite several attempts to collect the money.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in the amount of $64,645.25, plus 5 percent interest and court costs. The company is represented by Scott R. Clar and Brian P. Welch of Crane, Heyman, Simon, Welch & Clar in Chicago.
