Loyola University Medical Center allegedly failed to treat bowel perforated by gunshot

CHICAGO — A former patient who suffered multiple gunshot wounds is suing Loyola University Medical Center and doctors Ellen Omi, Craig McAsey, Hobie Summers, Ajaz Chaudhry, Amy Wickman and Carol Schermer for allegedly to failing to discover he had a perforated bowel.

Robert Edmond filed a lawsuit on March 21 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he sustained serious physical injuries from not having a perforated bowel treated in a timely manner after he was shot multiple times. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly discharging the him without properly evaluating the injuries caused by the gunshot wounds.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. He is represented by Gabriel Hardy of Goodman Tovrov Hardy & Johnson LLC in Chicago.
