CHICAGO — The administrator for the estate of a deceased patient is suing Prairie Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Extended Care Consulting LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent a patient from falling and fracturing her hip.
Catherine Cameron, independent administrator for the estate of Dorothy Mae Haynes, filed a lawsuit on March 20 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide Haynes with proper care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Haynes experienced pain after she fractured her hip when she fell in her bathroom. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise Haynes to address her risk of falling.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte IV and Michael Shanahan of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
