CHICAGO — An administrator for the estate of a deceased patient is suing the Renaissance at Midway Inc., a nursing facility, for allegedly taking insufficient measures to evaluate a patient who was suffering a stroke.

Florence Hamilton, special administrator of the estate of Eleanor Mataczynski, filed a lawsuit on March 20 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the nursing facility failed to provide Mataczynski with proper care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Mataczynski sustained fatal injuries from having cerebral artery blockage go untreated after the defendants allegedly refused to call 911. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly refusing to evaluate Mataczynski's condition and leaving her untreated.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by James J. Macchitelli of Miller Law Firm in Schaumburg.
