CHICAGO — A representative of two minors is suing Eric Nichols, Children's Home + Aid and several Children's Home employees for allegedly failing to take measures to ensure the safety of two minors who were being sexually abused.

Robert F. Harris of the Cook County Public Guardian filed a lawsuit March 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to properly monitor the two minors and follow up on purported signs of abuse.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the two minors experienced pain and emotional damages caused by sexual abuse. In 2014, Nichols was convicted of sexually assaulting the two minors and sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to the lawsuit. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly not taking steps to ensure the minors' safety.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for more than the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs.
