Belhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center allegedly failed to prevent bed sores

CHICAGO — An administrator of the estate of a deceased patient is suing Belhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for alleged failing to take measures to prevent the patient from developing bed sores.

Dorothy Connie, independent administrator for the estate of Russell D. Jones III, filed a lawsuit on March 29 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the nursing facility failed to provide Jones with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Jones experienced pain from having developed bed sores. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise and assist Jones to prevent him from developing the sores.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by David A. Kadzai of Kadzai Law Group LLC in Chicago.
