CHICAGO — A deceased patient's family is suing Belhaven Nursing & Rehab Center and Infinity Healthcare Management of Illinois LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent the patient from falling and becoming dehydrated.

Simone Cook, independent administrator of the estate of Cary Cook, filed a lawsuit on March 30 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide Cary Cook with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Cook experienced pain caused by dehydration and a fall he suffered. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise and assist him to address his risk of falling and to prevent dehydration.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Jonathan W. Young of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
