CHICAGO — A former employee is suing United Airlines Inc. and a United employee for alleged defamation, racial discrimination and wrongful termination.

Christopher N. Belcastro filed a lawsuit on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the defendants racially discriminated against him during his time at the airline.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he experienced discrimination at work and was forced to resign. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly terminating his employment based on a false claim he did not meet the company's performance expectations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reinstatement, full front pay, back pay, compensatory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Jordan A. Finfer and Margherita M. Albarello of Di Monte & Lizak LLC in Park Ridge.
