Caribbean Medical University allegedly breached contract, says $3.7M lawsuit

CHICAGO — A Canadian corporation is suing Uniserv Corp., which does business as Caribbean Medical University, for alleged breach of contract.

Trillium Medical Education Consultants Incorporated filed a lawsuit on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the defendant directly contacted preceptors, hospitals and affiliates in violation of the companies' contractual agreement

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it lost at least one year's worth of income. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly breaching its contractual agreement with the plaintiff and failing to pay the plaintiff's fee.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for more than $3.7 million, plus interest, court costs, permanent injunction and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Vivek Jayaram of Jayaram Law Group in Chicago.
