CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family  is suing Sheera Lall, a doctor, and Waukegan Illinois Hospital Company LLC, which does business as Vista Medical Center West, for allegedly failing to properly interpret the patient's CT scan and subsequently discharging her from the hospital.

Jessica Marthaller, independent administrator of the estate of Maronia Myrtle Marthaller, filed a lawsuit on March 29 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide Maronia Myrtle Marthaller with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Marthaller sustained serious physical injuries that eventually contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly interpret the patient's CT scan results and negligently discharging her from their care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Miguel A. Ruiz of Cogan & Power P.C. in Chicago.
