Waitress at Edgewood Valley Country Club allegedly spit on food

CHICAGO — An Illinois couple is suing Edgewood Valley Country Club and a waitress at the club, for alleged battery.

Joseph and Shannon Brady filed a lawsuit on March 28 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the waitress spit in their food.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they ate their food on July 1, 2016, without knowing it had been spit upon. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly allowing the waitress to spit on the food.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount equal to $20,000, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Eugene E. Murphy Jr. and John N. Hourihane Jr. of Murphy & Hourihane LLC in Chicago.
