CHICAGO — A former construction manager is suing Lendlease Corporation and Scott Mladic, citing alleged defamation.

Zachary Seals filed a complaint on April 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants alleging they made defamatory statements which caused the plaintiff to lose his job.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2016, he was terminated from his employment at SML Capital Advisors as the result of the false statement. The plaintiff holds Lendlease and Mladic responsible because Lendlease agents allegedly engaged in oral communications during a meeting stating that the defendant was banned from Lendlease work sites due to a confrontation he had with a senior manager, Mladic, which Seals claims is false.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Chiquita Hall-Jackson of Hall-Jackson & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
