CHICAGO — A patient is suing NorthShore University HealthSystem Skokie Hospital, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence for failing to remove materials from his wound.
Jerry March filed a complaint on April 7 in Cook County Circuit Court against the hospital alleging it failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in May 2016, he sustained physical injuries as the result of wound-packing material that was left in his left hip from a previous visit to the hospital treating injuries from a fall. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because its staff allegedly failed to remove several pieces of material from inside plaintiff's body, necessitating further procedures to remove them and an abscess they caused.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Michael A. Kosner of The Deratany Firm in Chicago.
