CHICAGO — A patron is suing Mingfang Tang, which does business as Art of Health, a massage parlor, and its owner, citing assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress for having cameras installed in the business where they could record patrons in states of undress.

A woman filed a complaint on April 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging that Art of Health, in Lincolnwood, had installed video cameras in its business without warning the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on Oct. 26, 2016, she suffered emotional damages after finding out that she was caught on camera while getting dressed. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff that she was being recorded while getting undressed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by James Xu of Law Office USA Ltd. in Chicago.
