Patient at Adventist LaGrange alleges misdiagnosis led to leg amputations

Medical malpractice 09

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Adventist LaGrange Memorial Hospital, Amita Health Adventist Medical Center and two doctors, claiming they misdiagnosed a vascular condition, resulting in amputations.

Nila Hudnut filed a complaint on April 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they, including doctors Geoff Crabb and James J. Walsh, failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on April 6, 2016, she sustained serious physical injuries including necessary bilateral lower extremity amputations. The plaintiff holds the hospital facility responsible because its staff allegedly failed to properly diagnose the plaintiff's serious vascular disorder and provide a timely treatment to avoid the amputations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Edward W. McNabola and Terrance M. Nofsinger of McNabola & Associates LLC in Chicago.
