CHICAGO — A patient is suing a nurse and Sinai Health Systems, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent a burn caused by a hot pack.
Sparkle Alexander filed a complaint on April 13 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she experienced pain from getting a second degree burn on her thigh during her hospital stay on May 1, 2015 from a provided hot pack that was too hot.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Mark Szaflarski P.C. in Chicago.
