CHICAGO — A bakers' union is suing Ronald J. Pavelka d/b/a Bridgeport Bakery, citing alleged breach of contract for failing to pay into its benefit funds.
The Board of Trustees of the Bakery and Confection Union and Industry International Pension Fund filed a complaint on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendant alleging that the employer failed to pay its required contributions to the labor group.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that it sustained damages due to the delinquent contributions. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the bakery allegedly failed to make timely contributions to the pension fund.
The plaintiffs seek judgment in the amount of $258,720 plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Stanley Eisenstein, Joshua File and Bridgette Van Tuyle of Katz, Friedman, Eagle, Eisenstein, Johnson & Bareck P.C. in Chicago.
