CHICAGO — A woman is suing Community First Healthcare of Illinois Inc., which does business as Community First Medical Center, and doctors Seth Jin Kutik and Adam J. Black, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence in her father's care, leading to his death.
Marci Weiner, as special administrator of the estate of Terry Poethkow, filed a complaint on April 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to Poethkow before his death in October 2016.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff, who is Poethkow's daughter, alleges Poethkow had developed an acute aortic dissection, which was not properly diagnosed or treated. The plaintiff holds Community First Healthcare and its two doctors responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose Poethkow's condition, leading to his death.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Michael S. Shinsky and Erin R. Doyle of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
