CHICAGO — Two plaintiffs are suing Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence for the death of their 1-year-old in March 2016.
Sydney Oakley and Tory Peterson, as co-administrators of the estate of their child, filed a complaint on April 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging the hospital failed to provide proper medical care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege their child sustained serious physical injuries that led to death on March 6, 2016, while an inpatient at the hospital. The plaintiffs hold the hospital responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to identify why the child was not tolerating feedings and failed to make sure a feeding tube was properly positioned.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Patrick A. Salvi II of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in Chicago.
