Manor Care of Hinsdale failed to prevent patient from falling, suit says

Medical malpractice 09

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Manor Care of Hinsdale IL LLC and Manorcare Health Services-Hinsdale, citing alleged negligence for taking insufficient measures to prevent her from falling.

Krystyna Gellert filed a complaint on April 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained serious physical injuries from a fall. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the nursing facility staff allegedly failed to provide adequate assistance and supervision to the plaintiff while she walked, causing the fall. The patient needed help at all times to walk or move around.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Daniel R. Seidman of Seidman Margulis & Fairman LLP in Chicago.
