By Louie Torres | May 3, 2017

CHICAGO — A patient is suing St. Alexius Medical Center, Andrei Pop M.D. and Cardiovascular Associates at Alexian Brothers Heart and Vascular Institute, alleging they punctured one of his arteries during a surgical procedure.

Robert Bianchi filed a complaint on April 24, in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he suffered a severe cardiac episode stemming from a mishandled cardiac catheterization. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because defendant Pop allegedly punctured an artery with a wire, causing the plaintiff to have to be transferred to another facility.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Alex D. Abate and Danielle D'Ambrose of Angelini & Ori LLC in Chicago.
