CHICAGO — A man is suing Northshore University Health System Glenbrook Hospital, and doctor Undine Buehling, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent an infection that led to his wife's death.

William Campbell, individually and as independent administrator of the estate of Mary Jo Campbell, filed a complaint on April 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to Mary Jo Campbell.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Mary Jo Campbell experienced pain from developing a bacterial infection in February 2016 which contributed to the deterioration of her health. The plaintiff holds Glenbrook Hospital and Buehling responsible because they allegedly failed to treat Campbell's bacterial infection during her Feb. 2, 2016, visit or obtain an infectious disease consult. Campbell died on Feb. 6, 2016, at Skokie Hospital from the infection.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Michael A. Kosner of The Deratany Firm in Chicago.
