CHICAGO — A police department employee is suing Cook County, Forest Preserve District of Cook County, and three Cook County Forest Preserve District Police officers, including a deputy chief, alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress for forcibly entering his property.
Dennis Moore, an employee of the police department of Forest Preserve District, filed a complaint on April 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they entered his house without his consent while he was on approved personal time off last December.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the officers invaded his privacy. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly forcefully entered plaintiff's house while he was on approved time off and went through his personal things, caused damage and left the house dirty.
The plaintiff seeks permanent injunction, compensatory damages of $50,000, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Paul O. Otubusin of Otubusin & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
