Law money 05

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Ocwen Loan Servicing LLC, a collection agency, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.

Naomi M. Robinson filed a complaint on April 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the debt collector engaged in a malicious debt collection campaign against the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was contacted regarding her mortgage debt in 2014 despite a court's debt discharge order following bankruptcy proceedings. The plaintiff says Ocwen Loan Servicing allegedly continued its attempt to collect from the plaintiff despite being notified of the discharge order.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages in the amount of $1,000, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by David S. Klain of Consumer Law Partners LLC in Chicago.
