Union says Regency Group failed to make required monthly contributions

Law money 12

CHICAGO — A painters union is suing Regency Group of Illinois Inc. and Joseph Campisi, citing alleged breach of contract.

Trustees of the Chicago Painters and Decorators and its related member benefit funds filed a complaint on April 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants alleging they failed to remit their monthly union contribution to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that its organization was damaged due to unpaid and late contributions. The plaintiffs hold Regency Group and Campisi responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their collective bargaining agreement by failing to pay their contributions on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants for $30,000, plus all amounts found due and owing, and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Donald D. Schwartz, James R. Anderson and Grant R. Piechocinski of Arnold and Kadjan LLP in Chicago.
